The company aims to enable autonomous assembly of large structures beyond Earth through its proprietary robotic welding platform. By manufacturing and joining modular materials in orbit, Space Quarters' technology eliminates the constraints of launching preassembled structures from Earth, reducing cost and risk while allowing for much larger and more durable designs.
Established in 2022 under the mission to "Expand the Potential of Humanity," Space Quarters has developed next-generation systems that support sustainable human presence in space through automated fabrication and assembly processes. The company's approach represents a paradigm shift in how orbital and lunar infrastructure can be built.
Space Quarters has collaborated with leading organizations including Sky Perfect JSAT, JAXA, Obayashi Corporation, and IHI Aerospace. Together, they have advanced ground-based proof-of-concept demonstrations for autonomous welding and structural assembly.
The newly secured funding will be used to expand its engineering team, enhance testing facilities, and prepare for in-space and lunar demonstration missions scheduled for 2027 - 2028. With system-level development now underway, Space Quarters is targeting its first commercial deployment within the decade.
