NASA Radar Finds Ice Deposits At Moon's North PoleWashington DC (SPX) Mar 02, 2010 Using data from a NASA radar that flew aboard India's Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft, scientists have detected ice deposits near the moon's north pole. NASA's Mini-SAR instrument, a lightweight, synthetic aperture radar, found more than 40 small craters with water ice. The craters range in size from 1 to 9 miles (2 to15 km) in diameter. India To Launch Chandrayaan-2 By 2013Bangalore, India (PTI) Jan 29, 2010 Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) chief K. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday said the configuration for the new moon mission 'Chandrayaan-2' is being finalized and added that it would be launched by 2013. Chandrayaan-2, which will be a joint effort between ISRO and Russia, will consist of a lander and a rover for a soft land on moon.
